Thy beauty mesmerize me,
As a nymph of fairy-tales story;
Whilth thou heart canst see,
I was captured on thy glory.
But hold! no sympathy
Nor broken vows should I grieve;
Thy heart sincerity,
A purer beauty thou undeceive.
Though thy lover possessed
Of thy heart and soul;
I will not lament in hopelessness
And grew neither pale nor cold.
